What Kind of Music, is my Music?
Some people say my music sounds like Classical music, as most
of it was intended for full orchestra, instruments only, no
one is singing lyrics.
Some pieces are soft and melodious, and some pieces are much
more Earthy, while others pieces are rather energetic, perhaps
even turbulent.
I like to think of my music as Symphonic Poetry, stories in
musical form.
Beneath the Music Link are some of the thoughts, feelings and
story lines that were passing through my mind as I wrote these
pieces.

Running With The Dogs.
For Tyler.
For Tyler. ------------------------ tyler.mp3
----- 4108 kb --- 3:30 minutes.
Here is the lonely song from the one who was left behind, looking
into the night sky and lamenting, why did she have to die.
Tyler, my precious Tyler, I miss you oh so much, that all of my
words just fail me, I know that your gone, and I am left alone,
and I know you will not return.
Good-bye my precious Tyler, I will always love you, and I will
always miss you, and I will always remember the love we shared,
thank you for ten years of love and devotion.
Midnight Stroll. ----------------- stroll.mp3
----- 3219 kb --- 2:44 minutes.
The dark of night beckons, come my friends, run with me through woods
and fields, for it is night, and I am like the animals I am with.
Cool and peaceful, with much to see, everything in dark color, the
rocks eery tints of yellow and blue from the shadows cast by Venus
and starlight, everywhere in the dark blue sky of night.
The Great Mystery. -------- greatmys.mp3
----- 3761 kb --- 3:12 minutes.
It is night, perhaps midnight, Tyler and I would walk through my woods
to the clearing in my field surrounded by ghostly trees on a cold
winter night, in the middle of the clearing with Tyler next to me I would
stare at the sky, the stars are so beautiful and bright on winter nights,
at least that's how it used to be, now I am alone, Tyler is gone, does her
spirit dwell in the beautiful heavens above, does she wait there for me,
is that where our spirits go when we die? I don't know, all I know is.
Every Soul on earth will enter the Great Mystery, none will ever return.
The Sunset Suite.
Sunset.
Sunset. ------------------------- sunset.mp3
----- 3814 kb --- 3:15 minutes.
Late in the evening, as twilight approaches, the sun is setting, the sky
is full of color, the world of night is about to awake, and the creatures
of the night get ready to stir, the hot blinding daylight gives way to
the cool of the evening, it is time for ourselves and our friends to
prepare for some time together, to eat drink and be marry, for night
approaches.
Night. ---------------------------- night.mp3
----- 4166 kb --- 3:33 minutes.
Twilight darkens, and camp fires light, the drums beat, and some of us
dance, some walk, some watch others, and some want to be alone with their
mates, as well, others already are, this is the time of joy, this is the
time of passion, beauty and love, night time in the wilderness with your
friends, we frolic till we tire, then go to sleep with our mates, in our
tents under the dark cool starry night.
Dawn. ---------------------------- dawn.mp3
----- 3592 kb --- 3:03 minutes.
Dawn in the wilderness, so peaceful, so calm, so quiet, soon the bright
sun will rise, the peace will end, work will begin, but at least for
these few brief moments the morning twilight is here for us to enjoy.
Here is an amusing little Halloween ditty.
I'm Going To Get You, Again!
I'm Going To Get You, Again! --- igtgya.mp3 ----- 3394 kb --- 3:37 minutes.

Imagine what it would be like if Demons came up from Hell and went
on a killing spree, harvesting Souls and hauling them off to Hell,
just imagine gleefully happy Demons, singing, and dancing, as they
rip our bodies to pieces, grabbing our Souls and dragging us down
to the bottomless pit.
Happy Halloween, and remember, Demons are a Ghouls best friend.
Chasing The Wind.
Chasing The Wind. -------------- chase.mp3 ----- 5241 kb --- 4:28
minutes.
It's morning, on a beautiful day, I'm looking forward to the thrill of my
life, and there it is, fired up and ready to go, I get in, the lines are
cast, the fire roars, and off we go, Chasing The wind in my very first
ride, in a hot air balloon.
Saintly Bernard's version of.
The Corpse Bride Wedding March.
Corpse Bride. -------------- corpsebride.mp3 -----
1956 kb --- 2:05 minutes.
Victor on his wedding day is standing near the Church alter, nervously
waiting for his bride to be, to walk down the aisle, the organist starts
playing, Here Comes The Bride, when suddenly the organ all by it's self,
begins playing Chopin's Dirge, the organist leaps off the bench in fear,
as a corpse appears next to her on the organ bench, except for Victor who
appears to be in a gentle beam of light, the Church darkens as a ghostly
choir arises through the floor, singing strange spooky music, then from
behind the shadows, the Corpse bride appears and starts walking down the
aisle toward Victor, the music builds to a crescendo, as she walks up to
Victor, lifts her vail and say's.
"Oh darling you've made me the happiest bride in all the world."
This is my fan art "the script and music" for "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride"
movie, which is due for release in late September 2005 just in time for my
favorite holiday, Halloween.
The part of the movie I've just described, is an invention of my
imagination, you probably won't see anything like what I just described.
"Unless by chance I'm psychic"
But I'm quite sure this is going to be a movie that's well worth
watching, as all Tim Burton's movies are.
I'm a big fan of Tim Burton, and Danny Elfman, and would never do anything
to harm them in any way, so if my story and or music is in any way
disturbing to the people who made the movie Corpse Bride, please email me
at saintlybernard@yahoo.com and let me know, and if you wish me to, I'll
remove all reference relating to Corpse Bride.
Now about the music, the first line is, Here Comes The Bride, followed by
my variation on Chopin's Dirge, now the spooky stuff is from me, it's a
mixture of my two musical pieces "I'm Going To Get You" and "Chasing The
Wind" with the "I'm Going To Get You" ending being slightly remixed for the
ending of the Corpse Bride too, I rarely borrow music from my self, but it
just seemed to fit so nicely in this piece that I just couldn't help my
self.
Ever since I heard about the movie Corpse Bride, I've been waiting in
anticipation for it's release, and during this time I thought how nice it
would be if I could add a little something to it, so I wrote this little
piece and the music to go with it, but alas, I'm not a part of this Great
work, I'm only a loyal fan, oh well, it was fun making up the fan script
and music.
I just watched the movie Corpse Bride, I was not disappointed, Corpse Bride is a great movie, every bit as good as I had anticipated it would be, and to all the people that made the Corpse Bride movie possible, I say, Thank you, thank you very much.
The Cemetery.
The Cemetery. -------------- cemetery.mp3 ----- 4904 kb --- 4:11
minutes.
Opening the gate I enter the Cemetery, as the gate closes behind me I feel
so alone, I walk up to her grave, beneath me lies someone I loved so very
much, someone I will never see again, but will always remember.
Sitting at her grave, I look down at the flowers and shed a tear, I will
remember her always, for I loved her, and she loved me.
I begin thinking of the wonderful times we had together, the happy moments,
walking together, sharing a meal, or just sitting side by side on the couch,
but these moments fade to the night at the hospital when I kissed her
good-bye, and said please don't die, but it was her time.
I will always love her and I will always miss her.
To soon it's time to leave, I walk out the iron gate, it closes behind me,
and I leave her to rest in peace, but I will return again, another day,
I always do.
Furry Carnival.
Furry Carnival. -------------- carnival.mp3 ----- 3519 kb ---3:00
minutes.
Once a year I have the privilege of attending a wonderful fun event, The
Mephit Fur Meet, "also known as MFM" I wrote "Furry Carnival" out
of admiration for MFM.
When you compare this music to my piece called "The Cemetery" which I wrote
shortly before I went to MFM you can see how going to MFM improved my mood.
Furry Carnival is written in the usual carnival style, as if it were the
background, of a parade or carnival playing in a small town, MFM is like a
carnival in the respect that we go there to have some innocent fun, but
MFM does much more, every year MFM helps Tiger Haven, and in "2005"
the victims of hurricane Katrina, and the family of one of our members that
passed away just a couple weeks before MFM.
MFM has a Fursuit parade inside the confines of our hotel, and if those in
charge of this parade or of the games that follow find any of my music
suitable for MFM, they are welcome to use it.
Thank you all at MFM for being one of the inspiring bright spots in my life.
My First Symphony.
Symphony No. 1.
The Cycle Of Life, Symphony.
By Saintly Bernard.
For years I've wanted to write a Symphony, but I'm older now and when
I started I didn't realize how massively difficult this task would
turn out to be, it's written in four parts each one only 5 to 7
minutes long, each one representing a part of the Cycles of life.
Part One. The Cycle of Life Begins.
First Movement. ------------------------------ 10254 kb --- 7:17 minutes.
The beginning, a new and wonderful start, a time of self discovery,
everything is something new to behold, it is childhood, the innocent
years.
Part Two. Adolescence.
Second Movement. ----------------------------- 8678 kb --- 6:10 minutes.
This is a time of rapid growth and should be a time of happiness,
seeing the world around us, but often growth happens too quickly,
and just when everything seems to be working well, it all goes
wrong, and a cry for help goes unanswered, then, Madness suddenly
creeps in.
Part Three. Late Adolescence, Madness takes over.
Third Movement. ------------------------------- 8732 kb --- 6:12 minutes.
Late adolescence and early adulthood can be a dangerous time
for some people, a time of great chaos, when life can be so
stressful, that death by suicide seems a viable option.
Some people will attempt this ultimate relief, some will not
survive, but also some will, especially when medical help
arrives in time.
Part Four. Recovery, Adulthood, Middle age and Wisdom.
Forth Movement. ------------------------------- 7489 kb --- 5:19 minutes.
Having realized how close to oblivion he came, he vows to try
to make the best of his situation, he's made it to adult, and
middle age, and now celebrates the life he almost threw away.
The Shadows of Our Souls. --- shadows.mp3 ----- 2896 kb --- 2:28 minutes.
The Great Migration. ------- migration.mp3 ----- 4202 kb --- 3:35 minutes.
Imagine what it must have been like thousands of years ago when
millions of animals and birds migrated across the land and sky.
This piece of music is also a mathematical experiment, lots of
players each playing a couple simple pieces on and off at
different intervals.
This piece is different from most of my other works, it's more
like rock music, as it's loud with a powerful drum beat.
Dream of the Surreal Sea. ----- dream.mp3 ----- 6217 kb --- 5:18 minutes.
The Tsunami.
The Sea can be so peaceful, so calm, and so insidious.
Beautiful places, just like dreams, can sometimes turn into
nightmares.
The music starts as a peaceful dream of the sea and ends as a
horrific nightmare tidal wave.
On December 26, 2004 an earthquake under the ocean triggered
massive Tidal Waves that killed at least 200,000 people, for many
it came without warning, suddenly a huge wall of water swept
inland carrying thousands of people to a brutal watery death.
I wrote this music while thinking about that nightmarish event.
Journey to the Other Side. --- journey.mp3 ----- 4619 kb --- 3:56 minutes.
During our time on Earth, some of us will have a near death
experience, and will survive to return to the living.
During this experience, there will be an intense feeling of
peace and well being, and some of us might dream of seeing
another world.
Here are the thoughts I was thinking when I wrote this music,
as I brought back the memories, of when the darkness crept in
around me.
From the darkness, I seem to awake, a slender beam of soft white
light appears before me, there is absolute silence, and no sense
of feeling, just an unusual sense of well being, no fear or dread,
like nothing I had ever experienced before, at first I was
confused, then I realized, I had passed away, my death was an
incredibly peaceful experience.
I hear a faint voice, it beckons to me, come into the light,
there's a lit path before me, I follow it, it is soft
and white, there is no ill feeling, no sense of touch as if I am
floating, again it beckons me, come into the light, I am compelled
to follow it, it leads me to a softly lit universe, of light fog
that gently gives way to a wider path that is coming to what
appears to be a bridge, I see other spirits all walking toward the
bridge, all following a beckoning spirit, I walk on, upward
it goes, I begin to hear faint music, it is so peaceful and
beautiful, the bridge is very long, but I never tire, there is no
effort in my journey, I am coming to the top, I look down, I begin
seeing the other side, there are spirits of people and pets on the
other side, among them are friends who passed away before me, I go
to greet them, as soon as I step off the bridge a new sensation of
feeling happens, everything is clear, I can speak and hear
everything, I'm in a welcome and wonderful place, I am home.
Suddenly everything vanishes, and I'm back in the world of the living.
Cascadia. --------------------- cascadia.mp3 ----- 3444 kb --- 2:56 minutes.
I once lived in a truly magnificent part of the world, the part of
North America known as Cascadia, my family and I lived in the
small town of Mount Vernon, Washington.
My parents owned 55 acres of forest on Silver Creek, in Alger,
there was no house on this land, but my dad hoped to build one
there while we lived in town, but that dream never came true for
any of us.
I now sit here in Texas, wondering what my life would have been,
like had we stayed in Washington.
There will always be a place in my heart for the Pacific Northwest
and the land known as Cascadia.
Mount Saint Helens. --------- sthelens.mp3 ----- 7584 kb --- 6:28 minutes.
Before 1980 there was a beautiful mountain called Mount Saint
Helens, the mountain and it's surroundings was a magnificent
site to behold, rich in beauty and wildlife.
Mount Saint Helens was considered by many to be the crown jewel
of the Cascadia chain, it was surrounded by forest and next to
Spirit Lake, in the state of Washington.
But beneath the surface of this mountain there was a volcano
waiting it's turn, and on that fateful day in May of 1980,
Mount Saint Helens erupted, annihilating everything on the
north side, rendering this once beautiful mountain and all that
there was before it for miles around, into a mass of volcanic dust,
devastation and death.
But over the years, with the help of rain, and sunshine, life, has
started reclaiming this devastated area, and now, after all these
years, Mount Saint Helens is now just beginning to return to what it
once was like.
And as time goes by, this cycle of life, and it's inevitable death
by eruption, begins once again.
Magic Beat 1. ------------- magicbeat1.mp3 ----- 2943 kb --- 2:30 minutes.
"Magic Beat 1" is a lot different from most of the music I write,
this piece is my style of Rock music which is heavy on the Drums.
At the time I started this piece, I was thinking of composing
something for drums, and not really thinking about any story
or event, I just made a drumbeat and melody then at a little
over a minute into the music I added some heavy bass drumbeats.
Magic Beat 2. ------------- magicbeat2.mp3 ----- 3027 kb --- 2:34 minutes.
"Magic Beat 2" Is the most upbeat Americanized country style
rock music I have ever written.
A pure joy to have brought into existence, it's fast and
cheerful with a touch of Aaron Copland and some dueling
guitars, and possessing the distinctive Magic Beat style.
My Second Symphony.
Symphony No. 2. The Transformation Symphony.
By Saintly Bernard.
Welcome to the spiritual side, the surreal music for the
otherworld, the world of the night, darkness, dreams and nightmares
the world of the unconscious and the semi conscious mind.
The world foregoing daylight, a real world filled with animals, and strange
creatures, the real things that go bump in the night.
And for the things only a few of us will ever see.
The Transformation Symphony is the music for a story of a young man's quest for
passage into the spiritual realm, where he becomes possessed by the spirit
of a Wolf-Man and becomes a night prowling Werewolf.
Part One. Convergence with the spirit world.
First Movement. ------------------------------ 10513 kb --- 7:28 minutes.
I have decided I want to enter the spiritual realm, to seek out the
spirits, and among other things find my totem spirit, and inner peace.
Part Two. The Awakening, Being Consumed.
Second Movement. ------------------------------ 9967 kb --- 7:05 minutes.
I've entered the spirit world but have awakened a spirit that wants
to live again through me, to take over my soul, he is not wholly a human
spirit, he's a very large and powerful spirit of an Anthrocanine, a
Wolf-Man, that takes possession of my body, and I am suddenly thrust
into the world of the Lycanthrope.
Part Three. A Soul Possessed, The Werewolf.
Third Movement. ------------------------------ 9242 kb --- 6:34 minutes.
The sun is setting, and the full moon is rising, I am compelled to
go outside, to run, I must be far away from people, before the moon
completely rises, for within me there is a Werewolf and he has
desires he must fulfill, and I must try to learn how to control him.
Part Four. Taming The Beast Within.
Forth Movement. ---------------------------- 14429 kb --- 10:15 minutes.
Info to come at a future date.
During the time I've been writing this Symphony I've been seeing my
doctor about a serious sore on my tongue, the biopsy on this sore
has turned out to be Cancer, and I must now put my life on hold to
fight this.
March 2007.
Despite this affliction my second Symphony has now been
finished, this was something I could not be sure would happen, and
the last 60 seconds of this Symphony is my farewell in case it
turns out to be my last.
Thank you for your support.
Saintly Bernard, March 2007.
